Do you know why we say, speaking about a woman, that she is beautiful to her very fingertips ? Because her nail polish does much in this. Used to enlighten or nourish nails, this cosmetic product can be found in several colors. Every taste can be satisfied, even if it can not be eaten (usually…). Stunning!

Once upon a time, there was nail polish …

Centuries and centuries ago, people argued about its creation. Indeed, Chinese, Japanese and Italians were convinced that they were the source of this. A various mix of bee wax, rose or alun powder, or acacia gum, nail polish in these times did not only cover nails, but also finger tips. Besides, in some societies, shades were signs of belongings to this or this social class.

When modernity mingles

From the 70s’ and 80s’, glitter or metallic nail polish, out of the ordinary, can be found. The bottle with the brush appears. Very flashy colors emerge. Who never saw chick yellow nails? But transparent nail polish, more discreet, are not left behind. One can choose a matifying nail polish or one an impact resistant one. Red varnish is a classical one.  But, it’s often said to match nails with a color of our outfit. However, avoid black tone on tone, otherwise it would give you a gothic look when you don’t adhere this … This would be too bad …

But, as said at the beginning of this article, nail polish are not made to just enlighten your nails. They protect them, nourish them. Some have the advantage to reinforce them, others make them shine. You can find the anti-splitting ones, the anti-breakage ones. And, nail polish can be quoted as a solution to stop nail biting: the bitter taste helps stopping this bad habit.
